Description
Missouri CAN 2021 Virtual Conference: I AM BECAUSE WE ARE
I AM BECAUSE WE ARE is a translation of the Zulu word “ubuntu.” It means we are all connected. It means community. The well-being of an individual is tied to the well-being of others.
As the theme for the 2021 Missouri CAN Annual Conference, we celebrate the idea of community—the heart of the work you do every day. Attend the virtual 2021 Missouri CAN Annual Conference to grow your skills and in turn elevate your communities.
We are excited to have a dynamic slate of content to offer this year’s attendees, from navigating federal funds management to addressing workplace equity. We have also planned events to help you virtually network with community partners and other Community Action staff.
Here is what you need to know!
Conference Dates
May 25 – 27
The conference will begin Tuesday, May 25 at 8:30 am with a behind the scenes look at the making of conference, followed by the conference opening and keynote address at 9:30 a.m.
Virtual Conference
Missouri CAN’s 2021 Annual Conference is being held virtually to ensure the safety of our attendees. In order to get the full experience of this year’s conference, we recommend attendees have access to a camera and microphone. Some workshops and events will be interactive. All registered attendees will receive an email with instructions on how to access the event the week before conference.
Registration Rates
For this year’s annual conference, Missouri CAN is creating an opportunity for non-members to join the Network through a separate registration option for annual conference. The incentive is a way to encourage those in the Network to join Missouri CAN and see the many benefits we offer. At the end of the trial year, the membership will automatically end unless we are instructed otherwise.
Current individual members will receive the reduced rate. There is also a nonmember registration option for those who want to attend conference but would rather decline membership.
Below are the three registration tiers for the 2021 Missouri CAN Virtual Conference:
Individual MCAN Member: $250 (Any CAA employee who is currently an individual member of Missouri CAN)
Non-member + 1 Year Individual Membership: $349 (Any CAA employee who is not currently a Missouri CAN individual member but would like a year’s trial membership, which can be paid with the registration fee)
