Description
Building Champions of the Community Action Movement: A Comprehensive Deep Dive Package for Personal and Professional Excellence
This training is a fresh approach to supporting members of the Community Action Network within Missouri as they affirm their desire to grow as professionals in Community Action. Learn about Community Action beyond your program and specific role to understand our movement and promise while getting support to attain a Certified Community Action Professional Certification. Building Champions sessions are for everyone and are important to those we serve, to our Community Action Movement, and to participants personally. Rather than providing program specific training frequently offered by funding sources, this is an in-depth forty hour deep dive into the Community Action Movement. It discusses the four tools I believe necessary for practitioners to take full advantage of the power and opportunities Community Action offers them.
'Building Champions' is composed of four distinct parts, each and collectively designed to help participants take full advantage of the opportunities offered them by the Community Action movement. The four parts include:
1. Truly dedicate self to beliefs of the Community Action movement.
2. Identify one’s own personal placement in the movement
3. Strive for professional excellence.
4. Cultivate a proper attitude.
As part of point three, Individual Excellence--CCAP--and Agency Excellence--Pathways to Excellence--are included. Guided preparation to sit for both the 2025 CCAP Proctored Exam and 2025 CCAP Independent Writing Assignment is included as part of each session.
To enroll in this training, participants must signal sincerity of commitment to excellence and participation by becoming CCAP candidates and discussing agency participation in Pathways to Excellence. CCAP candidacy would be addressed at each meeting.
