Intro to ROMA Session:
Introduction to Results-Oriented Management and Accountability (ROMA) seven module training is designed to provide a basic introduction to the principles and practices of ROMA. The purpose is to assure that everyone connected with the community action agency network has the same basic understanding of the full ROMA cycle. The key elements of ROMA are also foundational for the Performance Management Framework.
At the conclusion of this training, participants will be able to demonstrate knowledge of the basic Introduction to ROMA curriculum key principles and practices, construct and analyze a scale, and construct and analyze a logic model with all elements.
Session 1: Participants will review the ROMA’s history, purpose and perspective. Participants will learn about the core principals of the CSBG Performance Management Framework, National Theory of Change. Participants will analyze and create agency mission statements that include the key elements and will learn the value of Local Theories of Change. While reviewing community assessments, participants will be able to identify the level of need, prioritizing needs and the tools for analyzing assessment data along with learning the importance of planning.
Session 2: Participants will be introduced to needs, outcomes, services and indicators along with connecting needs with outcomes and strategies. Participants will learn about what an output is versus and outcome along with when to use proxy outcomes. Participants will learn how to develop a family logic model by using all the elements.
Session 3: Participants will examine the logic model, be introduced to measurement tools, using outcome scales to help with setting up targets, outcome matrixes, program evaluation, and more on data analysis.
