From Simulation to Change: Leveraging CAPS for Community Impact

Join us for an interactive training designed to equip Missouri Community Action Network members with the skills and strategies to effectively facilitate the Community Action Poverty Simulation (CAPS). This session will help you move beyond the event itself—transforming the empathy and awareness generated by the simulation into meaningful conversations, partnerships, and community change initiatives. This training session will also include insights on Missouri CAN's advocacy goals. You will not experience the simulation during this session, but you will receive high-quality training to prepare for your next in-person simulation. Whether you’re new to facilitating or looking to strengthen your impact, this training will give you the tools to make CAPS a powerful catalyst for action.

This training is open only to Missouri Community Action Network members and employees of member Community Action Agencies in Missouri. It will take place in Jefferson City on November 5 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. A $25 fee covers lunch and materials for the day.

In order to best achieve our outcomes, all attendees are required to complete our pre-survey and attest that you have seen/ participated in a poverty similation.  The information collected from this survey will allow us to structure our training in a way that enables attendees to network with others.  Please complete the pre-survey here.

Event Registration

You may pay online via credit card, or you can check the "pay later" box at checkout in order to pay via check or purchase order.  Purchase orders may be emailed to povertysimulation@communityaction.org and checks made payable to Missouri Community Action Network can be mailed to Missouri CAN, 3337 Emerald Lane, Jefferson City, MO 65109.  Please note that if you choose to pay via check or purchase order, the payment deadline is October 24, 2025.

Missouri CAN Members OR Employees of Missouri Member Agencies: $25 per person 

Cancellation Policy

All cancellations must be in writing, and there will be no refunds for cancellations after October 24, 2025. The cancellation fee is waived if there is a substitution.
