Description: This training offers new Community Action professionals a foundational understanding of the movement’s history, mission, and guiding principles. Participants will explore the origins of Community Action, its Theory of Change, and how these elements continue to shape anti-poverty efforts today. The session includes an overview of the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG), Organizational Standards, and the structure of local, state, and federal supports. Attendees will also gain familiarity with key tools and resources that support effective service delivery and community impact. By the end of the training, participants will feel more connected to the broader movement and empowered in their roles to drive meaningful change.
Objective: Provide new employees an in-depth understanding of the Community Action movement, history, and principles.
