About the Experience

This session focuses on transforming qualitative and quantitative CNA findings into compelling, accessible, and equity-centered narrative. Participants learn narrative strategies and executive summary structures that resonate with boards, funders, partners, and community stakeholders.

Objective: Learn more about secondary data on demographics, poverty, education, housing, and health in your agency region. Learn to generate reports for your Community Needs Assessments, grant applications, and day-to-day research.

 

Key Topics Covered:

• CNA executive summary structure aligned to ROMA

• Integrating focus group themes with quantitative data

• Turning findings into meaning: "What does this data tell us?"

• Incorporating and uplifting community quotes and lived experience

• Ensuring clarity for decision-makers and funders

Participants will practice building narrative components and receive templates and examples.

 

Designed for: Individuals working with thier Agency's CNA in 2026

Outcomes:

Participants will leave with:

• Sample narratives and data visualization prompts

• Structure for integrating qualitative and quantitative insights

• A clearer roadmap for communicating findings internally & externally

Agencies will be prepared to create compelling CNA narratives that inform strategy, support funding, and honor the community voice that drives Community Action work.

This project/program is funded at 28% at $18,857.61  with federal funds received from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) provided by the Missouri Department of Social Services, Family Support Division. All trainings in this series are hosted by Missouri CAN staff.
